1881 Mural Tour (260 Meters) – 9 Murals
This Mural tour begins next to CR Sabers in District 1881 (the South east corner of District 1881 where the parking lot meets “Bros Corner”)
The first murals you will see are 2 black and white murals by Guillem; these two murals face each other (being painted Aug 2024).
Move through this entryway and make a left (west) turn onto Thunderbird Lane and continue down to Elevate Pizza. Here you’ll make a right turn and be met with 3 murals.
The first, on the right, is Summertime by Carolyn Wong, to your left in front of you will be Don Quixote Y La Rana by Malik (The knight on the frog) and straight ahead is Legendary Pokemon by Chase Gray.
As you continue around the corner Floral Belted Kingfisher by Curtis Hylton, a two story mural is to your right. From here we’ll make a left (north) onto Wholly Dog Alley. Tucked into the patio wall of Smoking Gun Coffee is a Carrielynn Victor mural painted just this year.
Continuing north you’ll soon reach Yale Rd. where you’ll want to make a right (east) turn in front of the coffee shop and continue down the sidewalk, turning right again (south) just after Uptown Grill onto Sasquatch Alley. Here on the right you’ll see "Stop and smell the flowers" by Fe Ribeiro.
Now you’ll move up Sasquatch Alley towards the last mural of this tour. At the crosswalk and to your right, is the 2024 Juanjo Surace mural on the backside of Hugo’s Restaurant.
District 1881 is accessible for wheelchair and mobility devices. It is mostly a low traffic area with only a single one-way street that cuts through the middle. There are many benches along the route for breaks if needed.
There are also several cafés and restaurant options here in 1881 if you are looking for food and/or refreshments along the route. There are no hills or remarkable upward or downward grades in the terrain.
Victoria St Mural Tour (278 Meters) – 7 murals
This Mural tour begins on Victoria Avenue (just east of the intersection of College St. and Victoria Ave.)
The first mural you will meet on this tour is on Victoria Ave about 3 meters east of the intersection at Victoria and College st..
The mural, Peek a Boo by Curtis Hylton is tucked in sneakily on the brick building to the right. Continuing east down Victoria to the parking lot behind Harvest Cafe, you’ll come to SATR’s Let the Lion Fall, Love Will Catch It.
At the side of Harvest Café still on Victoria Ave, is Dynamic Wall With a View by HENGone.
Moving across Mill Street while staying on Victoria Ave is Use Your Voice by Kevin Ledo.
Turn right (south) immediately after this mural, down the alleyway and you’ll find JellyFish Jail by Siobhan D’Souza across from the yellow wall of the alley you’ll find The Aquarium by LALA.
Once you’ve come through the alleyway, turn right (west) and cross the parking lot towards The Grove Salon and Spa.
At the entrance of Court Lane on the left side of the alley is Alley Cat by Oxana Gaidasheva.
Finish this tour by continuing down Court Lane to Chilliwack Community Policing Building where you will find Stl'áleqem by Jared Deck on the left.
This tour through downtown chilliwack is accessible for wheelchair and mobility devices.
Traveling on this tour will be on the sidewalk, across crosswalks and through parking lots. There are no hills or remarkable upward or downward grades in the terrain. There are not many rest stops along this route.
During the business hours you will find a few areas to stop for refreshments or a meal.
